Unlike wood flooring with smooth finishes, hand scraped flooring doesn't have to be polished all the time to maintain its look. This doesn't mean that hand scraped hardwood flooring need not be maintained. Like other solid or engineered hardwood floors, proper maintenance is necessary to keep the look and prevent it from deteriorating.
